                         Back Yard Dogs!

Back Yard Dogs is a handling seminar. Joy Olshefsky, former BHAD instructor, offers all kinds of advice and suggestions for getting through an agility course.  She usually has 3 levels of courses for each class level. You get lots of training.  We are offering two 3 hour sessions, one for beginner agility teams and one for Masters level teams. This training will take place in the new training barn!

New At BHAD: Scent Work!

Time: 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM

Location: BHAD Training Barn, 22146 Reynolds Pond Rd, Ellendale DE

Scent work has become a popular, fun activity for both dog and handler. And the good news is it’s easy on the handler. No running, no heavy equipment to lift and is easy to train in your house. So if you haven’t tried scent work before, now is your time to see how much your dog likes it!

Chrisy Morgan and Lisa Trippett have been offering scent work at the Talbot Kennel Club and are excited to bring this training to BHAD.  So you won’t want to miss this opportunity!!

Registration is open now.  Please fill out the Registration and Waiver Form and send it to Sandy Moody (26853 E. Trap Pond Rd, Georgetown, DE 19947) with your check.  Registration fees are non-refundable unless we have someone to  replace you,

We are open now for 10 TEAMS ONLY, so get your registration in now.  Registration is first received.  We will keep a waitlist as well.  If we get more than 16 teams Lisa and Chrisy are willing to repeat the session the same day.

John Nys Seminar

October 3rd and 4th, 2020

We are excited to have John Nyes coming to our club for a fun packed weekend of education in agility. John will be offering two 4-hour sessions on Saturday, October 3rd, and one 7-hour session on October 4th.
Saturday Morning session is Jumping skills.  This is open for Novice thru Master level teams.
Saturday afternoon session is Wraps and Collection and again is open for Novice to Master level teams.
The Saturday sessions are limited to a maximum of 8 teams (dog and handler) per each session.
Sunday’s full day session is open for Excellent and Master level teams and is called Mastering Efficient Course Handling..
The Sunday full day session is limited to a maximum of 10 teams.


Member: 4 hour session – $75.00 ; 7 hour session – $175.00

Non-Member: 4 hour session – $100.00; 7 hour session – $225.00

MEMBERS Please Note: OPENING DATE TO SEND IN REGISTRATION AND  FEE AUG 17TH   One week later we open for non-members so if you want a spot, should register before the 24th.

We will also be offering limited auditing spots.  Costs for auditing is detailed in the Registration and Waiver form on our website.  Auditors will be able to watch and hear everything going on, just no dogs allowed.
If you have never attended a seminar, you won’t want to miss this one. John brings years of experience in trialing and teaching that is well received across the country.  He is a much sought after instructor and we are looking forward to him being with us.

NEW Training Seminar

Grace Heck, an enthusiastic,energetic, and accomplished agility competitor and trainer, in addition to being a successful international competitor, is offering two seminars for BHAD this Fall. We are planning a 4 hour session, open to all levels, called “Handling from Ahead”. The focus of this seminar will be on creating drive and motivation for lower drive dogs, or getting to your critical points with higher drive dogs. Another session will be on International handling which will be open to Ex/Master levels and/or anyone competing in premier.

We Vest Dogs in Delaware

Blue Heron Agility Dogs of Delaware has provided funding for protective dog vests for several local police departments and the Delaware State Police. The club’s goal is to have all canine partners in the community outfitted with the best equipment available.
